Weekend Lunch in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam


Since last Saturday was my daughter's 12th birthday, we asked her what she wants to eat for her birthday. However, she just wanted to have the normal menu at Lion City Restaurant. As such, I didn't take any photo during the dinner. The next day, we brought her to Tuscan & Grill, Restaurant for lunch since she said she wanted a burger. Its our regular visited restaurant should we want to have western menu, here in Ho Chi Minh. Some of the new menu I tried last Saturday was Truffle tagliatelle. T.his restaurant is located behind Rex Hotel and besides the Starbuck.

It's under the vegetarian menu. The pasta is cooked perfectly with mix of mushroom and truffle sauce 




King Prawn Crudo With Burrata


Simple yet satisfying flavour. It's a mince king prawn flesh and tomato on top of hollandaise sauce.





Latte with Jelly

I am not a coffee drinker but once a while I like to have latte. And this time I tried Latte with jelly at Trung Nhguyen. Mild taste of coffee with creamy milky taste and additional chewy jelly that has a very mild coffee taste. The jelly reminds me of my mom's "Gula Melaka" jelly

Have you ever tried or had this fried "sukun"or bread fruits?. I love the texture of "sukun" fruit as the flesh is soft and tender. Bahan- bahan : 1/2 inci kunyit hidup  1 keping asam gelugor  3 biji bawang merah 2 biji bawang putih 4 biji cili padi 1 batang serai (Blend bahan bahan di atas) 1 cawan santan 2 keping ikan sepat masin 1/4 biji nenas garam  gula Cara-cara : masukkan bahan bahan blend ke dalam periuk bersama 1/2 cawan air. Bendi Goreng - Fried Ocra

Fried Okra is one of my favorite dish for the main meal either dinner or lunch. It is so easy to prepare yet satisfying. Below I share how to make fried Okra my style Bahan-Bahan / Ingredients : 300gm bendi / Okra /Ladies finger 3 ulas bawang merah / shallots 2 ulas bawang putih / garlics 2 sudu udang kering / dried shrimp 3 biji cili padi / bird eye chilli 1 biji telur/ egg 1 sudu oyster sauce  1 sudu kicap manis / dark sweet soy sauce 3 sudu minyak masak / cooking oil  gula, garam / sugar, salt Cara memasak : Hiris halus bawang merah , bawang putih, cili padi.
